Movie Review: Skyfall
So before I get onto the detail of my review, can I send a message out to all of the world’s spy agencies ... STOP PUTTING IMPORTANT LISTS ON USB DRIVES!!!! Who in their right mind puts a list of ‘people-who-would-be-killed-if-anyone-ever-found-out’ anywhere apart from under a massive lock and key that requires retinal, palm, voice and possibly nasal hair scanning? This seems to be blindingly obvious, yet movie after movie has seen usb drives passing hands like the proverbial hot potato, putting all sorts of professionals at risk. I know, I know, this is just the movies, and therefore sensibility need not apply, but .... really?
Movie Review : The Hunger Games
When Katniss Everdeen steps up to take her little sister’s place in the Hunger Games, she enters a cut throat world where the games begin well before the fighting starts and where the playing field only stays level while the Capitol is entertained. With a survival instinct well honed in an upbringing where you only eat what you can kill, Katniss looks like she may have what it takes to win, until she becomes a symbol of strength and honour to the Districts, and therefore a threat to the Capitol’s control.
Movie Review : One for the Money ... Two's a no go!!!!
Janet Evanovich's books about a down on her luck girl from the 'burg' who bullies her sleazy cousin into hiring her as an apprehension agent have given me some of the best light reading I've ever had. With a whole lot of wit and humour, and no small amount of violence and guns the Stephanie Plum books are a guilty pleasure that take you out of the real world for a moment, and always leave you with a smile on your face.
